Review by hotel critic
As a seasoned culinary critic and avid traveler, I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a night at Adagio Hokkaido, nestled in the picturesque countryside of Biei. Opting for a stay in both the villa and the main building allowed me to appreciate the unique features of each space. the serene ambiance and breathtaking views from the main building made it a perfect retreat to witness the mesmerizing sunset. the complimentary shuttle service from Biei station was a convenient touch, although we opted for a taxi ride on one occasion, priced at a reasonable 1200¥. the spacious rooms featuring a sitting area and parquet floors exuded comfort, while the free bicycle rental provided an excellent way to explore the surrounding hills, especially during sunset-a truly mesmerizing experience. However, it's worth noting that dining options were limited during my visit, with only a delicious ¥1,000 breakfast available. Adagio Hokkaido excels in offering an authentic retreat with a touch of luxury and value. the chalet-style accommodation, coupled with attentive staff and locally sourced ingredients showcased in the 7-course dinner, provided a delightful culinary experience. While the absence of dinner options may be a drawback for some, the overall value and serene ambiance make this a worthwhile destination for those seeking a peaceful countryside escape.
